Our Story
Two people, one workshop, and a shared obsession with getting it right
We're Ben Argent Kitchens — an independent, family-run studio founded by Ben and Emi Argent in 2011. We design and handcraft bespoke kitchens from our workshop and showroom in Wiltshire, and we're still exactly what we started as: two people creating kitchens, together.
Furniture and architecture, together
Ben trained as a furniture designer and maker, and has spent years refining a style built on clean lines, elegant proportions and genuinely obsessive attention to detail — a background you can see in his acclaimed 20|20 freestanding kitchens. Emi studied architecture at the University of Bath and brings hands-on experience managing high-end interior fit-outs, with a natural ability to visualise the potential of a space. Between them, that combination — furniture craftsmanship and architectural thinking — is what makes a Ben Argent kitchen feel like it belongs in the room, not just placed in it.
What "bespoke" actually means here
A lot of kitchen companies use the word "bespoke." We think it should mean something. Every door front, cabinet or drawer we build is made for its own place in your kitchen — to precise, often unusual measurements, not pulled from a prescribed range. It's the same thinking behind our 20|20 freestanding kitchens: the leg structures are built as a single, seamless piece with no visible joins, sized to run the full length of your island or unit run — rather than pieced together from standard components.
You'll work with us — just us
There's no chain of people passing your project along. From your first conversation through to the final design, it's Ben and Emi, personally. Installation is carried out by our own two fitters, who work to millimetre precision and know our kitchens inside out, with Ben overseeing the fit — so the same care that goes into the design carries all the way through to the finished space.
