Bespoke Cottage Kitchen | Wellow, Somerset
This bespoke kitchen was designed for an award winning architect. The quirky nature of the cottage room added constraints and complexity, which ultimately enhances the kitchen design. There are numerous design features which create this highly individual kitchen.
The floating cantilevered wall units enhance the feeling of space and the proportion was dictated by the Gaggenau oven.
Sustainable materials were incorporated, such as birch plywood cabinets and rustic oak floorboards to clad the door and drawer fronts.
Chunky birch plywood open shelving fitted within the arched alcoves provide glimpses through the adjacent rooms, giving the kitchen a strong connection with the rest of the house. The soft LED lighting incorporated into the shelves gives a warm and homely environment.
A set of full height curved tower units, with a combination of open shelving and storage space, was custom designed for the space. The curvature allowed for sufficient access to the room at its narrowest point, yet maximise storage space at its deepest.
